Amazing yacht rental experience. Ben was great on board, helpful, friendly and on top of everything. Everything went perfect, and the jet skis were superior. Will definitely be back.

Private boat trips to Haulover Sandbar, the most active sandbar in northern Biscayne Bay. Shallow calm water, Haulover Inlet Atlantic access, and the weekend boat scene between Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles Beach.

AS SEEN IN

HAULOVER SANDBAR MIAMI
Haulover Sandbar is a shallow natural water flat in northern Biscayne Bay, between Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles Beach, adjacent to Haulover Park and Haulover Inlet. The sandbar is only accessible by boat. On weekend afternoons it draws 50 to 100 or more vessels in a scene that is the most socially active boat gathering in north Miami. Crown Yachts Miami operates a fleet of over 55 private yachts available for Haulover Sandbar boat trips departing from Bill Bird Marina at Haulover Park, Pelican Harbor Marina, and Island Gardens Marina.
A Haulover Sandbar trip anchors in the shallow, calm bay water for swimming and watersports, with Haulover Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean just one mile north. The route is the northern equivalent of Nixon Sandbar at Key Biscayne but with a distinctly different crowd, atmosphere, and location. Unlike Nixon Sandbar, Haulover sits adjacent to a navigable Atlantic inlet, meaning the same charter can include both a sandbar swim stop and an ocean transit through open Miami waters on the same route.
Every Haulover Sandbar trip is fully customizable with jet skis and watersports equipment at the sandbar, private catering, a DJ on deck, and custom yacht decoration for birthday, bachelorette, and special event formats.

THE HIGHLIGHTS
Shallow calm water with 50 to 100 boats on weekends, Haulover Inlet Atlantic access, the Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles skyline from the water, and the most energetic boat social scene in north Miami.
Haulover Sandbar is a natural shallow-water flat in the northern section of Biscayne Bay, adjacent to Haulover Park between Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles Beach. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons the sandbar becomes one of the most active outdoor social gatherings in South Florida, with dozens of privately chartered and personally owned vessels rafting together in the calm, waist-to-chest-deep water. The bottom is firm sand, the water is clear, and the bay is protected enough for swimming and wading regardless of ocean conditions further north at Haulover Inlet.
Haulover Inlet is the deep-water cut that connects northern Biscayne Bay to the Atlantic Ocean, located less than one mile north of the sandbar. Unlike the southern bay, where the Atlantic entrance is Government Cut at the Port of Miami, Haulover Inlet is a navigable ocean entrance used by sport fishing boats, offshore cruisers, and charter vessels heading to the deep-water Atlantic fishing grounds. A charter departing Bill Bird Marina can combine a sandbar anchor at Haulover with an ocean transit through Haulover Inlet on the same route, making it the only Miami sandbar experience that leads directly to open Atlantic water.
From the Haulover Sandbar anchorage, the Bal Harbour shoreline and the high-rise tower line of Sunny Isles Beach are visible to the east and north across the bay. The Sunny Isles cluster, sometimes called the Miami Riviera, runs along the barrier island north of Bal Harbour and forms the densest concentration of luxury oceanfront high-rises in South Florida. From a boat anchored at the sandbar, the entire north bay skyline from Bal Harbour south to the Mid-Beach towers is laid out as a continuous waterfront panorama in a way that is not visible from any land position on either side of the bay.
Haulover Sandbar attracts a crowd that is notably more local and more party-oriented than Nixon Sandbar to the south. On peak weekend afternoons, vessels range from small center consoles to fully chartered sport yachts. The atmosphere is louder, music is common from multiple boats simultaneously, and the social interaction between vessels is more direct than at Nixon Sandbar's calmer, more anchored format. Haulover Sandbar is the Miami sandbar for groups who want the full outdoor boat party experience in shallow water with an open-air atmosphere and the bay extending in every direction.
WHERE WE DEPART
Bill Bird Marina inside Haulover Park is the closest marina to Haulover Sandbar. Pelican Harbor Marina at the 79th Street Causeway and Island Gardens Marina on Watson Island offer alternatives from the south.
Bill Bird Marina at Haulover Park is the closest departure marina to Haulover Sandbar. The marina is inside Haulover Park, adjacent to the Haulover Inlet entrance, and charters departing Bill Bird Marina reach the sandbar anchorage in under 5 minutes across the bay. The marina is also directly adjacent to Haulover Inlet, making it the natural departure point for any charter that combines the sandbar with an ocean transit to the Atlantic. From North Miami Beach, Aventura, and Sunny Isles Beach, Bill Bird Marina is 10 to 15 minutes by car via A1A or William Lehman Causeway.
Pelican Harbor Marina at the 79th Street Causeway is 15 to 20 minutes south of Haulover Sandbar by water via a northbound Biscayne Bay transit. Charters from Pelican Harbor pass through central bay and reach the Haulover area approaching from the south. This marina is the most practical departure for guests coming from Miami Shores, Biscayne Park, Little Haiti, the Upper Eastside neighborhoods, and Midtown Miami who want the Haulover Sandbar without the longer southbound drive to Bayside or Watson Island.
Island Gardens Marina at the base of the MacArthur Causeway is 25 to 30 minutes south of Haulover Sandbar by water. A charter from Island Gardens tracks north through Biscayne Bay past the Venetian Causeway corridor and the 79th Street Causeway before reaching the Haulover area. This departure naturally extends the northbound route past a full bay crossing with the downtown Miami and Brickell skyline visible to the west and the Miami Beach tower line to the east, adding the bay transit itself as part of the charter experience before reaching the sandbar.
Miamarina at Bayside Marketplace at 400 Biscayne Boulevard is 30 to 40 minutes south of Haulover Sandbar by water via full north Biscayne Bay transit. A departure from Bayside covers the widest view of the bay on any route to Haulover, with the entire downtown Miami waterfront visible at departure and the north bay opening up progressively toward the Sunny Isles horizon. This departure is best suited for guests coming from Brickell, Wynwood, the Design District, and downtown who want to combine a full north bay crossing with the Haulover Sandbar experience on a 5 to 6 hour charter.

ITINERARIES
From a 2-hour sandbar express to a full-day north and south bay tour. Every itinerary anchors at Haulover Sandbar as its core, with Atlantic inlet, Celebrity Islands, and double sandbar options available.
The Haulover Sandbar Express is a 2 to 3 hour charter anchored at the sandbar for a swim and wade stop in calm, shallow water. The route departs Bill Bird Marina, crosses the short bay transit to the sandbar anchorage, and returns. This format is the most booked for groups wanting the sandbar as the single destination: a birthday afternoon, a bachelorette party swim stop, a corporate happy hour on the water, or a first-time Miami boat charter. The 2 to 3 hour express is the most efficient format for experiencing Haulover Sandbar from the closest marina.
A 3 to 4 hour Haulover Inlet combination departs Bill Bird Marina, anchors at Haulover Sandbar for 1 to 2 hours, then transits north through Haulover Inlet to the Atlantic Ocean for a brief ocean run before returning via the inlet. Haulover Inlet is less than one mile north of the sandbar, and the ocean transit from the bay to the open Atlantic takes under 10 minutes from the sandbar anchorage. This is the only Miami sandbar route that includes open ocean water as a natural extension of the sandbar stop, and it is available exclusively from Bill Bird Marina.
A 3 to 4 hour north bay tour anchors at Haulover Sandbar, then continues north along the Intracoastal Waterway through the Sunny Isles Beach and Aventura corridor, passing the Golden Beach waterway mansions and the Aventura Intracoastal. The Sunny Isles Intracoastal is one of the densest concentrations of luxury waterfront residential real estate in South Florida and is rarely seen by charter groups who depart from the central bay marinas. This route is the natural north bay equivalent of the Venetian Islands Intracoastal circuit on the south bay.
A 4 to 5 hour north-to-south bay circuit combines Haulover Sandbar in the north with the Star Island, Palm Island, and Hibiscus Island celebrity estate circuit in the central bay. The route departs Island Gardens Marina or Miamarina at Bayside, tracks north to the Haulover area, anchors at the sandbar, then returns south through the bay past the MacArthur Causeway island chain and the Star Island shoreline. This combination covers the full north-to-south length of Biscayne Bay on a single charter, from the Atlantic inlet at Haulover to the celebrity islands near Miami Beach.
A 5 to 6 hour double sandbar day combines both major Biscayne Bay sandbars in a single charter. The route anchors at Haulover Sandbar in the north for 1 to 2 hours, then transits south through the central bay to Nixon Sandbar at the north end of Key Biscayne for a second swim stop. The two sandbars are at opposite ends of Biscayne Bay, separated by roughly 20 miles of open water, and the full-bay transit between them gives a complete picture of the Miami waterfront from north to south. A double sandbar day requires a 5 to 6 hour charter minimum.
A 6 to 8 hour full-day tour combines Haulover Sandbar and the Atlantic inlet, the Sunny Isles Intracoastal, a southbound bay crossing to the Star Island celebrity circuit, and Nixon Sandbar at Key Biscayne for a second swim stop, finishing with the downtown Miami and Brickell skyline at sunset. This is the most comprehensive single-day charter available in Miami, covering both sandbars, both celebrity island chains, the ocean inlet at Haulover, and the full length of Biscayne Bay from north to south in one continuous itinerary.

Bill Bird Marina is inside Haulover Park at 10800 Collins Avenue on the Atlantic side of north Miami Beach. From Aventura and Sunny Isles Beach, the marina is 10 to 15 minutes south via Collins Avenue or A1A. From Brickell and downtown Miami, take the Julia Tuttle Causeway or the 79th Street Causeway east to Miami Beach and head north on Collins Avenue for approximately 30 to 35 minutes. From Wynwood and the Design District, the drive is 25 to 30 minutes north via Biscayne Boulevard and northeast to Collins Avenue. The marina is inside Haulover Park, which charges a park entrance fee on weekends.
Bill Bird Marina has parking lots inside Haulover Park adjacent to the marina entrance. The park charges a per-vehicle entrance fee, which also covers the parking. Additional parking is available along Collins Avenue near the park entrance. The marina is a popular weekend destination and parking fills quickly by 10am on Saturday and Sunday during peak season. Arriving early or using rideshare drop-off at the park entrance are the easiest options for large groups. We recommend arriving at the marina 20 minutes before your scheduled departure.
Saturday and Sunday afternoons between noon and 4pm are peak time at Haulover Sandbar when the highest number of boats gather and the full weekend atmosphere is at its most active. Weekday visits have fewer vessels and a more relaxed atmosphere, which some groups prefer for birthday, proposal, and romantic charter formats. Morning departures between 9am and 11am on weekdays are the calmest conditions at the sandbar. Weekend evening departures at 4pm or later are popular for groups who want the Haulover experience combined with a bay sunset on the return transit.
A dedicated Haulover Sandbar express charter runs 2 to 3 hours and covers the sandbar anchorage and swim stop from Bill Bird Marina and back. A Haulover Sandbar and Haulover Inlet combination runs 3 to 4 hours, adding the Atlantic ocean transit through the inlet north of the sandbar. A Haulover Sandbar and Star Island circuit runs 4 to 5 hours. A double sandbar day combining Haulover and Nixon Sandbar at Key Biscayne runs 5 to 6 hours. A full-day north bay and south bay tour runs 6 to 8 hours. Most groups book 3 to 4 hour charters as the standard format for Haulover Sandbar trips.
Private Haulover Sandbar boat trips accommodate groups from 2 to 13 guests on standard yachts. Sport yachts in the 45 to 75 foot range are the most popular vessel for sandbar anchor groups and give the most usable on-deck space for swimming, watersports, and group activities. Larger motor yachts in the 65 to 105 foot range provide more shade, more seating, and more interior space for groups booking extended full-day charters. Every charter is private, meaning your group has the entire vessel to yourselves with a licensed captain and crew.
All Crown Yachts Miami charters include a USCG-licensed captain, crew, fuel, ice, water, and a Bluetooth sound system. Add-ons available for Haulover Sandbar trips include jet skis, paddleboards, and watersports equipment at the sandbar, private catering with full menu coordination, a private chef on board, an open bar package with bartender service, a DJ with full equipment, custom yacht decoration for celebrations, and VIP transport from your hotel or residence to Bill Bird Marina.
