PRIVATE YACHT DINNER MIAMI

Dinner on a Yacht in Miami

A yacht dinner in Miami is the rare occasion where the setting does as much work as the food. You board in the late afternoon, the city drops away behind you, and dinner is served while the skyline turns gold across Biscayne Bay. Whether you want a sunset cruise with a full menu, a quiet dinner at anchor off Key Biscayne, or a skyline cruise past Star Island, Crown Yachts arranges the entire evening.

What makes it a dinner rather than a boat ride is the private chef. A trained chef boards with you, cooks in the galley and plates each course while you are underway, on a menu built around what you actually want to eat. If you prefer something lighter, our yacht catering packages are prepared ashore and served on board by the crew. Add table decoration, champagne, or photography and the evening is handled end to end.

Every charter is fully private. It is your group, your captain and your crew, with no shared seats and no fixed schedule. Planning something specific? We also arrange romantic dinner cruises for two, anniversary charters and corporate dinners on the water. Most clients receive yacht and menu options within minutes of reaching out.

DINNER INSPIRATION

Ideas for a Yacht Dinner in Miami

No two dinner charters run the same way. These are the four setups guests book most, and every one of them is adjusted around your date, your route and your menu.

01
MOST POPULAR

Sunset Dinner Cruise Miami on Biscayne Bay

The most requested yacht dinner in Miami. The yacht leaves in the late afternoon on a private sunset cruise so the first course lands exactly at golden hour. You dine while the Downtown and Brickell towers turn amber behind you, then watch the skyline light up over dessert. A sunset dinner cruise in Miami is timed to the minute, and we adjust the departure to the actual sunset on your date.

02
CHEF ON BOARD

Private Chef Dinner: A Multi-Course Menu Cooked at Sea

This is what separates a real yacht dinner from a boat ride with takeout. A private chef boards with you, cooks in the galley, and plates each course while you are underway. Menus are built around what you actually eat, from a fresh seafood tasting to steak, pasta or a fully plant-based service. Dietary requirements are handled at the planning stage, not improvised on the day.

03
MOST PRIVATE

Anchor Off Key Biscayne: Dinner Under the Stars

Leave the bay traffic behind and drop anchor in the calm water off Key Biscayne, near Nixon Sandbar and the old Stiltsville houses. The engines go quiet, dinner is served on deck, and there is nothing around you but open water and sky. The quietest dinner on a boat in Miami, and the best one for a conversation you actually want to have.

04
SCENIC ROUTE

Star Island and Millionaire's Row Dinner Cruise

A slow evening cruise past Star Island and the waterfront estates of Millionaire's Row while dinner is served on board. The classic Miami skyline cruise route, except you are eating a proper meal instead of holding a paper cup. Add a private DJ and the evening runs itself.

DEPARTURE LOCATIONS

Dinner Cruise Departure Marinas in Miami

We depart from marinas across South Beach, Downtown, Brickell, Coconut Grove, Watson Island, Key Biscayne, North Beach and South Miami. Arrive 15 minutes before departure and the yacht, the table and the chef are already set.

Select a departure marina to see the location

Miami Beach Marina

Full-service marina at the southern tip of Miami Beach, steps from South Beach and the Art Deco district. The fastest boarding point to open bay water, which makes it the most requested departure for a sunset dinner cruise.

Downtown marina at Bayside Marketplace with the skyline rising directly behind the docks. You are on open bay water within minutes, so the first course can land exactly at golden hour.

The largest marina in Miami, in Coconut Grove on the calm southern stretch of Biscayne Bay. Flatter water and a short run to Key Biscayne make it the best departure for a dinner served at anchor.

On Biscayne Boulevard just north of downtown, with quick access to the Venetian Islands and the open bay. A practical, low-traffic boarding point for guests coming from Brickell, Edgewater or Wynwood.

Watson Island deep-water marina sitting between downtown and South Beach, with the skyline on one side and the port on the other. The berth of choice for larger yachts and the most dramatic setting for boarding at dusk.

Watson Island marina next to Island Gardens with direct Biscayne Bay access and panoramic city views. An excellent departure when you want the skyline in view from the moment dinner is served.

On the Venetian Causeway among the Venetian Islands, halfway between Miami and Miami Beach. Sheltered water and a short run to the skyline route make it well suited to an intimate evening dinner charter.

South Beach marina a short walk from the Art Deco district, Lincoln Road and South Pointe Park. Convenient when your guests are already staying in South Beach and want to walk to the dock.

Boutique marina in the Sunset Harbour neighbourhood of Miami Beach. As the name suggests, an evening departure here puts the sun over the bay before dinner service even begins.

Coconut Grove waterfront beside Monty's, with covered parking and quiet bay access. A relaxed, green departure point away from the downtown traffic.

Brickell area marina convenient for downtown and Brickell guests, with the city skyline in view from the moment you leave the dock. A short river transit adds a striking opening to the evening.

At the Rickenbacker Causeway entrance, the gateway to Virginia Key and Key Biscayne. The natural choice for a dinner charter heading to the quieter southern bay away from city traffic.

Key Biscayne marina surrounded by parkland, minutes from Nixon Sandbar and the open Atlantic. The quietest departure Miami offers for a private dinner at anchor under the stars.

In Haulover Park just north of Bal Harbour, with direct ocean access through Haulover Inlet and the northern bay on the other side. The obvious departure for guests staying in Sunny Isles, Bal Harbour or Aventura.

Near the 79th Street Causeway with easy highway access from the mainland. A calm, protected harbour and an unhurried starting point for an evening on the water.

South Miami marina and the main gateway into Biscayne National Park. Best for a longer charter where dinner is served far from the city, in genuinely secluded water.

ROUTES

Dinner Cruise Routes on Biscayne Bay and Beyond

Your captain knows these waters and picks the route around your departure time, the wind and how long you want to be out. Calm water matters more for a dinner charter than for any other kind of trip.

Select a route to see where it is

Miami Skyline at Sunset

Sunset charter

The defining route for a sunset dinner cruise in Miami. The glass towers of downtown and Brickell turn gold as the sun drops, then the whole skyline switches on over dessert. Open bay water here is flat in the early evening, which matters more than most people realise when a full meal is being served. View Miami Skyline cruise.

A slow pass along Miami's most exclusive waterfront estates, minutes from every downtown and South Beach marina. Best timed for the start of the charter, while there is still light on the houses and the first course is coming out. View Star Island tour.

Sheltered intracoastal water through the Venetian Islands past Vizcaya, with arched bridges and low-rise waterfront homes instead of high-rises. Calmer and quieter than the open bay, which makes it a comfortable route for a seated dinner. Explore Miami Beach yacht rentals nearby.

Anchor in the calm middle of Biscayne Bay after sunset, engines off, with the coastline lit in every direction. The most private way to finish a yacht dinner in Miami, and the point in the evening where most guests stop taking photos and just sit.

Calm shallow anchorage at the southern tip of Key Biscayne, with turquoise water and open sky. Quiet on weekday evenings and a genuinely secluded setting for dinner at anchor. View Nixon Sandbar.

The most exclusive island in Miami, reachable only by boat. The channel alongside it is where cruise ships leave in the early evening, and passing one at close range while dinner is served on deck is hard to beat. View Fisher Island tour.

The legendary Miami Beach waterfront lined with the most spectacular mansions on the bay. A scenic stretch to cruise between courses, and the part of the evening guests tend to remember. View Millionaires Row.

The sheltered southern bay off Coconut Grove, with a tree-lined shoreline instead of towers and noticeably calmer water. A relaxed alternative to the skyline route for a long, unhurried dinner.

A scenic run through clear water toward Key Biscayne and Virginia Key, past the old Stiltsville houses. Far enough from the city that the noise disappears completely, and worth the longer transit for a private dinner.

Turquoise water, coral reefs and remote islands south of Miami. A full-day charter with dinner served on the way back, in water most Miami visitors never see. View Biscayne tour.

WHY DINE ON THE WATER

Plan Your Private Yacht Dinner in Miami

Miami has no shortage of good restaurants, and none of them move. A dinner on a yacht gives you a table that changes view between courses, a guest list of only the people you invited, and a kitchen that cooks for your group alone. Here is what actually goes into arranging one.

Private chef preparing a multi-course dinner in a yacht galley in Miami

Private Chef on Board: The Part That Makes It a Dinner

Multi-course menus cooked in the galley and plated while you cruise

This is the single upgrade that changes the evening, and it is the one we recommend first. A private chef boards with you, works in the yacht galley and serves each course as you go, rather than handing over a tray that has been sitting in a cooler. The menu is agreed in advance around what your group eats, and dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and allergy needs are planned in rather than worked around. Provisioning, plating, service and cleanup are all part of it. If you want something simpler, our yacht catering packages run from charcuterie and fresh seafood platters up to full multi-course service with wine pairings, prepared ashore and served on board by the crew.

Yacht dining salon set for an evening dinner charter in Miami

Choosing the Yacht: What a Seated Dinner Actually Needs

Flybridge yachts, motor yachts and catamarans with a real dining table

A dinner charter has different requirements than a day cruise, and this is where people usually get it wrong. You want a flybridge or motor yacht in the 45 to 65 foot range with an enclosed, air-conditioned salon and a genuine dining table, plus an open upper deck for drinks before and after the meal. Space per guest matters far more than headline capacity, so a yacht that carries 13 people comfortably on a sandbar trip may seat only eight for a proper dinner. For two to four guests, a 40 foot yacht with a well-set aft deck is often the better and more intimate choice. Browse our full yacht fleet and we will match the vessel to your group size, your menu and your route.

Sunset dinner cruise on a private yacht with the Miami skyline behind

Sunset Dinner Cruise Miami: Timing Is Everything

Biscayne Bay, Star Island, Millionaire's Row and the Brickell skyline

A sunset dinner cruise in Miami lives or dies on the departure time. Leave too late and you eat in the dark, leave too early and you finish dessert before the light turns. We depart roughly 90 minutes before the actual sunset on your date, which shifts by an hour and a half across the year. That puts you on open water for golden hour, past Star Island and Millionaire's Row while the Brickell towers catch the last of the light, and back across the bay as the skyline switches on. Compare a standard sunset cruise if you want the views without a full dinner service.

Plated course served during a private dinner charter in Miami

Every Occasion: From a Quiet Table for Two to a Full Group

Birthdays, anniversaries, proposals, corporate dinners and family evenings

A yacht dinner works for far more than date night. We run birthday charters where the cake comes out as the skyline lights up, corporate dinners that beat any private dining room in Brickell, family evenings, and anniversary charters. If the evening is specifically about two people, our romantic dinner cruise is built for exactly that, and a marriage proposal on a yacht is often paired with dinner afterwards. Add table decoration or a private DJ and the whole evening is arranged before you step aboard.

It was our first time exploring Miami by yacht and it was one of the best experiences we've had. The crew took great care of us the entire time. They were super friendly and patient. We stopped at multiple spots to take photos and the captain was more than happy to adjust the route whenever we wanted. Marinda also helped capture so many great moments for us, which made the whole experience even better. We will absolutely be returning!

We had an amazing experience with Crown Yachts Miami! They took care of every item on our list and the yacht was even nicer than we anticipated. 10/10 would recommend for a top-notch experience in Miami. Communication was also smooth.

We rented the 66ft Azimut during our trip to Miami and it was honestly one of the best days of our vacation. Everything was smooth from the start. We ordered food and drinks ahead of time, and when we arrived, everything was already set up on the yacht and super fresh. The drinks were already chilled in the ice box, which was perfect. We had an amazing time out on the water, everything was exactly how we hoped it would be. Definitely recommend Crown Yachts Miami if you're trying to have a fun day out with friends. Would 100% book again!

FAQ

Miami Yacht Dinner FAQ

What is a private yacht dinner in Miami?
A private yacht dinner in Miami is a fully private charter where a proper meal is served on board while you cruise Biscayne Bay. Unlike a shared dinner cruise where you buy a seat and share the vessel with strangers, you charter the entire yacht. You choose the departure time, the route, the menu and the guest list. Captain and crew are included, and a private chef can cook on board.
Can we have a private chef cook on board?
Yes, and this is what most guests book. A professional private chef boards with you, cooks in the yacht galley and plates each course while you are underway. The menu is built around your preferences in advance, and we handle vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy requirements at the planning stage. For lighter setups we can also have catering loaded and plated by the crew instead.
How much does a yacht dinner in Miami cost?
A private yacht dinner in Miami starts from $1,500 for 4 hours on a smaller sport yacht with captain and crew included. Mid-size flybridge yachts suited to a seated dinner start from around $2,700 for 4 hours. A private chef, catering, decorations, photography and a DJ are optional add-ons quoted separately. Share your date, group size and menu preference and we send options the same day.
How many guests can join a private yacht dinner?
Our private charters carry up to 13 guests, which is the legal limit for a private charter yacht in Florida. Most dinner charters are booked for 2 to 10 guests, since a seated meal needs more space per person than a day cruise. For groups above 13 guests a commercially inspected vessel is required, so contact us directly and we will advise on the options.
When is the best time for a sunset dinner cruise in Miami?
A sunset dinner cruise should depart roughly 90 minutes before sunset, so you are on open bay water when the light turns. Miami sunset times shift by about an hour and a half across the year, from just after 17:30 in December to past 20:00 in June, so we set the departure to the real sunset time on your date rather than a fixed slot.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes. BYOB is welcome on most of our yachts and you are free to bring your own food if you prefer. That said, a yacht galley is not a restaurant kitchen, so anything that needs cooking or plating is far better handled by a chef or by our catering team. We can also arrange champagne, wine and full bar packages, chilled and loaded before you board.
Which yachts are best for a dinner on the water?
For a seated dinner, look for a flybridge or motor yacht in the 45 to 65 foot range with an enclosed air-conditioned salon and a proper dining table, plus an open upper deck for drinks before and after. Smaller 40 foot yachts work well for two to four guests who want an intimate dinner on deck. Our team matches the yacht to your group size and menu.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first and the captain makes the final call. Miami weather is good for boating year-round and brief afternoon showers rarely affect an evening charter. If conditions are genuinely unsafe for departure we reschedule your dinner at no extra cost, and if a chef has already been booked we move that booking with you.
How is this different from a Miami dinner cruise ticket?
A ticketed Miami dinner cruise puts you on a large passenger vessel with a hundred or more other guests, at a fixed departure time, with a set buffet menu. A private yacht dinner is the whole vessel for your group only, with your own departure time, your own route and a menu built for you. The experience and the price point are completely different.
